One woman was killed and three more people suffered serious personal injuries yesterday, July 8th, when their SUV was forced from its lane by a tractor-trailer into another truck. All vehicles were traveling south on I-85 in Gwinnett County, Georgia near Steve Reynolds Boulevard. According to witnesses, a southbound tractor-trailer changed lanes into a lane occupied by a Nissan Pathfinder, forcing the SUV into the side of a box truck that was also traveling south. The Pathfinder then left the interstate where it struck a steep hill between I-85 and the interstate ramp at Steve Reynolds Boulevard, says a spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Police Department. After leaving the roadway, the SUV flipped over several times and ejected a woman seated in the front passenger seat. While the box truck driver cooperated with the investigating law enforcement personnel, the tractor-trailer driver did not stop. However, law enforcement officials with the Gwinnett County accident investigation unit located the truck in Cobb County where the driver was identified and interviewed. The police have not yet made any arrests and continue to investigate.
