On May 4, 2013, James was sworn in as a member of the United States Supreme Court by the Honorable Clarence Thomas. To qualify for membership, an attorney must be a member in good standing of the state’s highest court for a three-year period and be sponsored by two attorneys who are already members of U.S. Supreme Court. The U.S. Supreme Court is the highest court in the country.
